Delivering quality coffee and a quality experience is our goal. Each morning there's an opportunity to start the day right; with a good cup of coffee. With Littletree, continuing the specialty coffee conversation in a sustainable and cost effective manner is at the forefront of what we do.

Oftentimes, you'll hear coffee referred to as a tree or a shrub. Well, what's the difference? Answer is, you will often hear both. The real difference between a shrub and a tree is size and shape. In Ethiopia for example, a wild coffee plant will eventually grow into a tree. Farmers usually keep their coffee plants short and well pruned, thus usually referred to as a coffee shrub. Either way, both terms are okay!

In the early 1720's, French naval officer, Gabriel de Clieu, is said to have introduced coffee to the Western Hemisphere. According to de Clieu, he arranged transport of a single little coffee tree from Jardin royal des plantes in Paris to Martinique. This little tree was one of two gifted to coffee enthusiast, Napoleon, by the Dutch in 1712. During his voyage to Martinique, de Clieu is said to have shared his water rations with the little tree. Eventually, de Clieu arrived in Martinique and planted it. Years later the Latin American coffee plantation system was born and millions of plants began to thrive throughout the West Indies, Central America, and Brazil.

As a nano coffee roaster, the goal of Littletree is to deliver quality coffee and experience. Our coffees are carefully selected in small quantities across a range of importers. Coffee is then roasted to highlight the individual characteristics and uniqueness of each coffee. We feel like our small offering can deliver a broader range of coffees at a reasonable price. We hope you will be a part of our journey.
